Crochet…Picot Star Scrunchie

Picot Star Scrunchie

Materials:
small amount of worsted weight yarn
large “ouchless” hair elastic
size J hook

Round 1:
Join yarn to elastic with a sl st, ch 2, complete 43 hdc around elastic,
join in 2nd ch of beg ch 2 with sl st.

Round 2:
Ch 3, dc in same st as joining, ch 1. *Sk next st, dc, ch 1, dc in next st (v-stitch made), ch 1.*
Repeat from * to * around, join in 3rd ch of beg. ch with sl st.

Round 3:
Ch 1, sc into first V-stitch, *7 dc in next v-stitch. Sc in next v-stitch.*
Repeat from * to * 10 more times, join to beg. sc with sl st.
Note: Make sure you are working only in the V-stitches, not the openings between them!

Round 4:
Sl st in next 4 dc, ch 3. Sl st into 1st ch of ch-3, sl st again in same dc as ch-3. (picot made).
*Sl st in next 8 st, ch 3. Sl st into 1st ch of ch-3, sl st again in same dc as ch-3.*
Repeat from * to * 9 more times, sl st in last 3 dc. Join rounds with sl st.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
